Several new businesses are slated to open their doors in Granville in 2024, including a brand-new bike shop and cafe, an IV hydration business and a Chipotle. Other businesses, including Chase Bank and the Granville Vision Center, have plans to relocate elsewhere in the village.

OneLove Cafe and Bike Shop

OneLove Cafe and Bike Shop officially opened its doors on Monday, July 8 after a “soft opening” during the annual Granville Fourth of July celebration and events throughout June.

The bike shop will sell, rent and repair bikes and the cafe will serve international foods including Turkish delight and baklava. There will also be space for people to rent for gatherings, according to owners Mike Brown, Fulya Doslovich, Asu Turkman and Oz Turkmen.

The Granville Mill District

The new Granville Mill District development is coming to Lancaster Road in Granville, in between the Granville Township Fire Department and Cedar & Thread. This development will include a Chipotle Mexican Grill, the Granville Vision Center — moving from its current home on  South Prospect Street — a nail salon and an IV hydration business called HydrateMe.

The Village Council approved the final development plan created by Continental Development Real Estate Companies, Inc. on Dec. 20, 2023, and the Mill District broke ground in late spring.

There was a lengthy process that led up to the plan’s final approval. This process included several meetings with Granville’s Planning Commission, who aim to ensure the development fits into the town’s pre-determined aesthetic. The developers and the planning commission worked together for months assessing traffic patterns, access points and building aesthetics to figure out the logistics of the design.

“This is a really good example of the collaboration process between developer and the village. Everyone was respectful of everyone else’s needs,” said Village Planner Debi Walker-Yost.

The plans for the 11,995-square-foot complex include five storefronts, a pick-up window for Chipotle and a rain garden.

Continental Development Real Estate Companies, Inc. is aiming for the completion of the Granville Mill District by late September.

By that time, the exterior will be completed, but the interior will not be. Each space will be built to suit, so that the businesses’ design teams can come and outfit the space according to their needs.

“The goal here is to promote strategic value-add development to our community,” said Courtney Ruppert, Assistant Village Manager, about the new Mill District.

Another Granville business — the Granville Investment Group, LLC — will be relocating next to the new Mill District development. The organization will be moving to 1919 Lancaster Rd from its current residence at 124 S. Pearl St., according to president Ryan Mills. Its new location was once a Verizon store, and is situated next to the Cedar & Thread boutique. Their open house will be in August.

Chase Bank

Granville’s branch of Chase Bank is close to relocating from its current location at 136 E. Broadway to its new home in the Masonic Building just down the street at 116 E. Broadway, the former location of Donatos Pizza and Brews, a restaurant and pub.

Chase has announced plans to be fully relocated by the end of July, according to Steve Matheny, the Executive Director of the Granville Area Chamber of Commerce, who has been in correspondence with Brandon Grace, the Chase Bank Branch Manager.

The soon-to-be empty property is owned by Morales-RIVERA LLC, who also own and operate Day Y Noche next door as well as La Luna B&B, a bed and breakfast located above Day Y Noche, and Seven 4 Zero, an ice cream shop and restaurant on 470 S Main St. It’s unclear what the restaurant owners intend to do with the space once it’s unoccupied.
