The $2.1 million roundabout is taking shape and getting its first layers of asphalt on North Pearl Street at New Burg Street.

Construction began in the spring. And when school let out in June, construction began in earnest as North Pearl was narrowed to one lane and access to New Burg from North Pearl was closed. The intersection is scheduled to reopen when school begins again in August for traffic to and from the Granville Middle and High schools and the Intermediate School.

It’s the village’s first roundabout, and village planners anticipate it will be completed in November. It is designed to help alleviate traffic congestion along North Pearl and New Burg.
