Granville and Granville Township will become one big garage sale on Saturday, June 28.
That’s when the annual Great Granville Garage Sale map will direct pickers and antique-seekers to piles of old books, vintage knick-knacks, local art and much more.
More than 60 vendors are scheduled to participate at private homes, Opera House Park and Granville Farmers Market. Registration for vendors to be on the map will close at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25.
The garage sale is organized by the Licking County Coalition for Housing (LCCH), a social service organization focused on finding housing solutions for unhoused and low-income individuals and families. LCCH took over this annual township-wide garage sale in 2016.
“There’s a lot of enthusiasm in Granville,” said Brandi Ringhiser, Housing Navigator for LCCH. “All the businesses, when I took flyers, were all really wanting to post it. A lot of people are excited about it. Before we even put out flyers, people were asking about it.”
Ringhiser explained that funds from sponsors, donations and fees vendors pay to register for the yard sale will help “bridge the gap where it’s needed” for low-income households to receive household items like bedding, pillows or socks which do not fit into traditional grants LCCH receives.
The official booth with yard-sale maps will be located at Opera House Park and the corner of Broadway and S. Main Street in Granville alongside sale booths.
An interactive map of sale locations also will be available online on the GGGS Facebook on Friday, June 27.
In addition to the garage sale, LCCH also raises funds through its Food Truck Festival and HomeRun 5K and Mile Walk.
The garage sales will take place regardless of the weather conditions. More information and updates can be found on the LCCH website.
