Low-flying planes over Licking County this week are out to disrupt spongy moth mating

Granville resident braves 352-mile endurance bike race

While most participants were there to compete in the 50-mile, 100-mile and 200-mile stretches of the race, Kretchmar was one of 200 racers selected by a lottery system to participate in the “XL” version of the contest: 352 miles on all-gravel roads through the Flint Hills region of Kansas.

Future uncertain for Alexandria residents, businesses displaced by fire in century-old building

On Monday, June 3, inspectors deemed the building structurally sound, but residents have not been allowed inside to retrieve their belongings – clothes, family heirlooms, bags of dog food, social security cards or furniture – as of Wednesday afternoon.

Buckeye Lake Pirate Festival draws hundreds for pirate-themed celebration

The festival, which kicked off Friday night and ran through Saturday night, included a pirate marketplace, treasure hunts on land and water, a mermaid meet-and-greet, face painting, artists and “the world’s tallest ARRVEE,” a 41-foot-tall pirate ship on wheels.
