The Granville Chamber of Commerce welcomed three new businesses with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday night. Steve Matheny, the executive director of the Granville Area Chamber of Commerce, visited each business with a large pair of golden scissors and blue ribbon to officially launch their businesses.

Granville Vision Center, Hydrate Me Med Spa and Goddess Maintenance Co. recently opened their doors in Granville’s Mill District, an 11,995-square-foot complex that is also home to a new Chipotle.

The joint ribbon cutting included balloon arches and refreshments at each business. Matheny, Granville Mayor Melissa Hartfield and members of the chamber of commerce joined the business owners, employees and residents in celebrating the three new businesses.

The Granville Vision Center moved from its previous location on Prospect Street to the new building. Jenna Tyler, the owner and optometrist, said she needed more space to service more patients.

“I ran the vision center and we were in a tiny little optometry practice just around the corner from here for the last five years,” Tyler said.

Tyler loved the size and design of the new space in the Granville’s Mill District.

“We love that everything is brand new and fresh and clean. And we’re really happy with how it turned out,” she said.

Sarah and Matt Dorsky opened Hydrate Me, a medical spa, in the brand new Mill Shoppes on March 15. This is the fourth Hydrate Me location in central Ohio, with branches also in downtown Columbus, New Albany and Dublin.

“I love being able to help people, so it’s really great to help people feel good, not only on the inside but on the outside,” Sarah said at the ribbon cutting. “There’s a lot of hype over wellness right now, and the aesthetics industry is booming, and we just saw it as a really great opportunity.”

Hydrate Me offers a full service wellness IV and vitamin booster shot and all esthetics. Matt Dorsky works next door as a Granville firefighter, and Sarah is a nurse practitioner. Matt said they are able to treat everything from a hangover, anxiety, or just feeling run down.

Goddess Maintenance Co. — formally known as the W Nail Bar — opened on March 20. Goddess offers esthetics, manicures, pedicures, lash and brow services, and sells beauty products and jewelry. The business started in Ohio and now has 14 locations, including eight in Columbus. Megan Murphy, the president of stores at Goddess, said they were getting requests to come closer to Newark and Granville clients.

Granville is “one of the best, most involved and supportive communities, and we couldn’t wait to get here,” Murphy said.
