Get ready for a snowy blast of winter, Licking County.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for all of central Ohio, which could see snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches just in time for the Tuesday morning rush.
“Plan on slippery road conditions,” the weather service advisory says about weather for Dec. 2. “The hazardous conditions will likely impact the Tuesday morning commute.”
The forecast calls for snow starting after midnight – mainly between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Tuesday.
“The snow could be heavy at times,” the weather service reported, noting that central Ohio could see snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches early Tuesday morning with another inch possible through the day.
The winter weather advisory affects a large portion of the region, including portions of east central and southeast Indiana, northern Kentucky, and central, south central, southwest, and west central Ohio.
The low Monday night in Licking County will be around 28 degrees, with a light east wind. The chance of precipitation after midnight is 90%.
After the initial round of snow in the early morning hours of Tuesday, it will be mostly cloudy with a high near 35. The chance of that additional inch or so of snow is 60%. The low Tuesday night will be around 21 with a light wind.
Wednesday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 34. And on Wednesday night, Licking County can expect a slight chance of snow after 1 a.m. Thursday morning. The low overnight will be around 24.
Thursday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 30 – and a low at night of around 11 degrees.
On Friday, there is a 30% chance of snow after 1 p.m. It’ll be mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. And Friday night brings a 40% chance of snow with a low of about 25.
Saturday should be mostly cloudy, with a high near 36, and Saturday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 27.
Sunday will bring more of the same with a high near 37.
