Bright Spots were conceived on a particularly gray and gloomy afternoon in the dead of winter. The Reporting Project editors were seeking a burst of joy, comfort, fun — anything to break the funk brought on by short, rainy days.
That afternoon, it was donuts.
Since then, we’ve started taking notes about the bright spots happening around us. It’s the perfect cup of coffee in the morning, your favorite song on the radio, a cute dog in the park, and the beautiful moments in our everyday lives.
